Well, at first it was the accent training session. Then I mentioned that people have a tendency to have less accent when they are singing. We should try that. Then we started looking for songs to sing. Then it turned into a 2-hour session of listening to his old favorites. We listened to “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses, “Seven Bridges Road”and “Desperado” by Eagles, “Hands” by Jewel, “MudShuvel” by Staind and “SCARBOROUGH Fair”.
My problem is that usually I cannot figure out what people are singing by listening to the songs alone, even if they are in Chinese. But this time, I was able to look up the lyrics while listening to the songs. I could finally understand the words. It was really a good time. We sang together with our off-tone, broken voice. I felt like we were two teenagers.
