One day, Photoshop decided to give me error when I try to “Save for Web
“Could not complete the Export command because of a program error”
I thought I could live without it but then I notice that it is the only way to Save Slices!!
I tried the following with no luck:
– I did delete the Photoshop preference file by holding ctrl+alt+shift during PSCS bootup but the error returned.
– The ctrl+alt while saving for web— cannot even get the menu pop up when I hold down alt key
– Delete the Adobe Photoshop user preference folder in the AppData…\Roaming\… directory
The only thing kind of worked was to create a new user! — What is really busted? Searched all over google but it seems like no one knows. After copying the user preference folders from the new account to the old account without any luck, I decide to stick with the new account. Had to restore all the settings.
Desktop icons: just copy the files under the Desktop folder
Quick launch bar icons: copy files under the AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ folder
Firefox bookmarks: copy files in the \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\***.default
The difficult one was to restore Dreamweaver sites. Didn’t find an easy way. Had to go to the old account, export all sites then reimport them. At least it didn’t force me to do those one at a time!
I hope that’s all the migration I need to do…! What a waste of time!
