Today, 6/27, is a historically significant day. Caveman Eon went into a salon (well, a salon institute, but close enough) to get a hair cut!  No, don’t laugh. I am serious. Let me tell you when her last hair cut was. Let me think…uh… maybe 7,8 years ago in China? Wow. See, now you would agree it is a special thing.

To be fair, Eon does have her hair cut every now and then, just not in a salon. It’s usually done by a family member or by herself. So for Eon to go to a modern salon, is like the cave man visit a metropolitan city or Liu Lao Lao visit the Grand View Garden (Da Guan Yuan) in Dream of the Red Chamber. She is somewhere between really scared and exited. You should see her grabbing onto the chair as if it is the electric chair. The poor salon student has to deal with her constant concern “are you cutting too much? Don’t cut too much. Are you sure you are not cutting too much?…”. After it’s all done the student leads her to the counter and says “It has been a pleasure to work on your hair”, but she turns her head away mid sentence. Wow, what a “pleasure”. Come on, caveman Eon was very nice. She didn’t scream or bite your head off…

So, what made Eon gather all that courage to go get a professional hair cut?  I guess she finally accepted an opportunity to get a change. It is always scary to try something new especially when you have been burned before.  Just look at the residents of that Romanian village . They re-elected their mayor even though he had died! “I know he died, but I don’t want change,” a pro-Ivascu villager told Romanian television.

But then you get scared by the fact that you are scared to change so you say “let’s try it…” It’s a healthy thing, right?

Eon’s new hair cut turns out quite good.

Let’s not discuss whether or not she will get another professional hair cut in the future yet.

Well, at least you had non-professional haircuts as an option. Until last year, I think it was about the same amount of time since I’d had a haircut of any kind. I really did look like a caveman.
